Enrollment

Enrollment is open year-round, pending availability, with no rigid semester system to wait on. We are currently offering Artist Diplomas and Performance Certificates in Piano, Violin, Viola, Viola d’Amore (Performance Certificate only), Cello, and Bass. Admission to our programs is highly selective, with faculty guiding the acceptance of students into their respective studios based on auditions and availability. Depending on faculty availability and student demand, certain disciplines may not always be actively offered.

Admissions

Admission prerequisites are based on the following requirements. For the Artist Diploma, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (preferably masters), a music diploma, or equivalent, as determined by the faculty. A Performance Certificate from Opus Colorado may also be an acceptable prerequisite. The Performance Certificate, applicants must be highly advanced musicians aged 16 or older and/or meet one of the following criteria: already working on professional repertoire, pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an established professional seeking continuing education.

Auditions

Applicants must submit a formal audition video that showcases their abilities with clear video quality, high-quality audio, and appropriate lighting. The video should include three contrasting works totaling up to 10 minutes.

For Piano, the audition must include:

  • A piece by J.S. Bach (e.g., a suite or prelude and fugue).
  • A movement from a Classical period sonata in sonata-allegro form.
  • One or two additional pieces of the candidate's choice.

For Strings (Violin, Viola, Viola d’Amore), the audition must include:

  • One movement from a concerto.
  • One movement from a Bach solo suite.
  • One additional work or movement of the candidate’s choosing.

Applicants must also provide a CV/resume and a letter of recommendation. The admissions process considers solo and ensemble experience, as well as the breadth of repertoire, to evaluate candidates comprehensively.
